17. Water and air . . .

I went to the house on May 13 to check progress.  Mechanical work has started!  Plumbers finished much of their work.  Unfortunately, the HVAC contractor has not started.  Painters have started caulking and filling nail holes on the trim to prepare for paint.  Paint and stucco work on the upper portions of the house will be done before the roofing is installed.  This minimizes drips and messes on the metal roofing.

On May 16, 2022 we checked progress and found that more of the plumbing was completed, the soffits and facias have been painted, and most of the HVAC work is complete.  The air handler is installed in the attic and ductwork is done.  Some of the vent ducts are still needed.  However, the dehumidifier has not been installed and it looks like the installer did not make provisions for it. We also noticed that the range hood exhaust duct is routed oddly when it could have just gone straight up.  We’ll need to address these with the builder.
