More insulating this week at the GarageDominium. I wanted to insulate the garage and shop, but open cell foam is expensive. I went with foam on the garage roof deck, but fiberglass in the walls. Also, the bathrooms and utility room get fiberglass insulation for sound proofing. There are just certain bathroom sounds we don’t want to hear in other rooms. Fiberglass installation started on July 26.
When the insulators arrived, I noticed the bath/utility room insulation they brought was not the correct material. So, they could not complete that this week. They also have not finished sealing the doors, windows, and top plates.
The cornice crew made progress and completed the battens and banding. They also finished the tongue and groove patio and porch ceilings.
Some friends from Germany visited this week and toured the house. We had a good time seeing them again. They have a great mission work in northern Germany. Over the past several months, their efforts have focused on Ukrainian refugees. They help find homes and food and provide spiritual guidance. Sure makes one think about the abundance we have here. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Slow progress BUT it all looks good.
