18. God bless this house . . .

We recognize that none of this is possible without the blessings given to us by God.  It is a very humbling responsibility to use what God has given wisely.  We want to honor him in the GarageDominium build.  While looking at home building resources online, we found many that had written scriptures on the walls prior to covering them with insulation and sheetrock.  We thought this was a great idea and solicited input from our family to decide what specific scriptures to use.  We settled on the scriptures below.  I’ve included a few pictures showing the writing on the framing.

It was kind of interesting that when hunting down the writing so that we could take pictures, one of the scriptures had moved.  Evidently a plumber needed to move a piece of blocking that has a scripture on it.  He removed that section of lumber and relocated it, albeit to an obscure location.  But the writing is intact and Ezekiel 36:25 now appropriately supports the water pipe to the toilet in bathroom 2.

Lots of writing, that will eventually be covered up only to be revealed when the house is remodeled or torn down.  But we will know it’s there.  We will have pictures to remind us what was scrawled inside the walls.  We spent some time on May 13 writing on the walls and finished up on May 16.  The builder reminded us not to write on woodwork or floors that will be exposed.  He has several stories about clients that inadvertently wrote on places that were supposed to be finished with stain.   You probably don’t want writing on your nice cedar columns.
